I was born and raised in Uganda. I am number 7 of 9 children.
My father is a retired teacher and my mother was a stay-at-home wife (RIP). My family was very involved in the Catholic Church. That involvement and life circumstances strongly influenced my faith formation and desire to become a Catholic priest.
I was further influenced by a Catholic priest from the Netherlands, a missionary in my native country. Other than my parents, Father Smeets was the most important person in my young life.
I entered the seminary formation fairly young. My formation journey began with six years of high school seminary, 3 years of a college seminary where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, and 4 years of theology at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, where I earned a Master’s degree in Divinity.
After completing all my seminary studies, I was ordained a priest in Uganda on July 4, 2004.
In 2010, I came to California to study at Santa Clara University, obtaining a master’s degree in Pastoral ministries; went on to pursue a dual degree at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, earning a Licentiate in Sacred Theology and a master’s degree in Theology and completed my doctorate studies at the same institution. God has been so kind and loving of me beyond measure. Out of this sense of gratitude, love and compassion, I endeavor to serve God’s people.
I look forward to serving God’s people here at Queen of Apostles.
