Dear SBC Donor,
Firstly, thank you for being a dedicated donor, particularly in challenging times like these. Your willingness to step up for local patients is invaluable, and those of us in the healthcare community greatly appreciate your partnership.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are cancelling many of our mobile blood drives, including the Queen of Apostles drive, this coming Tuesday, in order to ensure compliance with public health recommendations, particularly with regard to social distancing. The past week of attempting to increase the distance between donors at mobile blood drive has been extremely challenging, and has caused donors to experience longer wait times, further increasing larger gatherings of donors in close quarters in the waiting area before or the canteen following donation.
We want to assure you that there is still NO increased risk to contracting or transmitting coronavirus by donating blood, and all of our blood collection sites are safe and hygienic. That said, in order to take the most thoughtful approach possible, as well as to create a better experience for our donors, we are asking that you schedule your next appointment at one of our three center locations in Menlo Park, Mountain View or Campbell, by calling (650_ 723-7831 or going to our website at: http://stanfordbloodcenter.org
As a special thank you for your time, every donor who comes into a center now through the end of March will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card via email.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that you will make your first available appointment to donate blood. Remember — while it may seem as if the world has stopped — the need for blood never does.
Thank you, Team SBC
Monica Doleshel
